CEI launched its first summer exchange program

In early September 2017, Mikiyo Hattori and her childhood friends launched the Cultural Exchange Initiative, a program designed to bring visitors to the city of Mino in Japan's Gifu Prefecture. The initiative aims to offer extensive cultural exposure to native English speakers seeking to master the Japanese language while providing Japanese children with numerous English classes taught by these native English speakers. For language students, the program offers a chance to live in a Japanese rural community and enhance their speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills in Japanese. The program facilitates language immersion and cultural exchange, allowing two different cultures to share their values, traditions, knowledge, beliefs, arts, habits, laws, and history.

By participating in this program, we believe that individuals can achieve their personal goals while also promoting multiculturalism in local communities in New England and the city of Mino. This will create a true melting pot of cultures that fosters understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of diversity.
